I had a friend ask me a couple days ago how I find all the music I listen to.  Thought I would share this in case anyone was in the same boat as her.  I like to think I have it down to a pretty good science, haha. Here’s the main part of the message I sent her:

“Well, several different ways. A lot of it is by word of mouth, friends see or hear good bands and tell me about them. I look at people who tour with people I already like. I recommend looking up something called SongKick.com I signed up for it, and it sends me an email (or notification on my iPhone) whenever the bands I like are playing close, and they also have some suggestions on similar bands as well.  I will admit, I also creep friends music lists on facebook (Mainly people who I know have good taste, ha) And lastly I’ve found about a dozen or more good band/artists on http://www.thesixtyone.com/ Hope that maybe helps!”
